We always come across the word destiny, but most of us do not really know what it means. D estiny is a predetermined event in a person’s life that is beyond human control. Destiny is also known as our “purpose in life” . In my own opinion, it will take a big deal of time before we discover our true destiny is . I myself who is already 42 years old as of this writing is still in doubt of what my real task in this world. Every single day I always ask my self what my Creator wrote in my palm and what is waiting for me at the end of this tunnel called life. When I was still in my childhood years, I see my future as difficult and full of challenges because that was what I saw from my parents. My dad in particular was the one who inculcated in my mind that adult life is tough and I should prepare for it. He always told...

In my previous post entitled “In Search of your Destiny” , I mentioned that it takes only one person, one event, and one decision to help you discover your destiny. But how do we know if destiny is already knocking at our doors?  Destiny is a very broad term for some of us. Sometimes we tend to interchange it with fate. To be technical about it, destiny and fate have different meanings. Though these two words both refer to man’s fortune. Fate is more on the pessimistic side, while destiny is on the positive side.  When we say fate, it usually refers to an unexplained, unpopular, and sometimes tragic events in a person’s life that are beyond his control. Destiny, on the other hand, is what we are supposed to accomplish in this world, it is a deep inner energy that drives a person towards his life’s purpose. A person’s destiny is divinely-planned, even before we are born in this world our role in the “grand master plan” was already determined...

The greatest events in our lives are those that were unplanned - the uncalculated ones.  Some call it mistakes, misfortunes, or simply fate. But for me, I call them destiny. An apple seed will always grow as apple tree and will never develop to another type of tree.  With or without proper care and nutrition, that seed will grow and will die as apple tree.   Each one of us is destined for something important in this world. Unfortunately, we are not comparable to a seed whose outcome is somehow expected. No mortal would know what we will become in the future, probably some so-called fortune tellers can predict some future events in our lives but the outcome of these events in relation to its impact towards our emotions, morale, and/or inner being will all depend on us. It will depend on how we take it or how we interpret it. It can break or make us. Our reactions to these events will affect the course of our destiny, its either we find it or lose sight of it...

Finding your life's purpose will help you walk through life with greater focus and will give you clarity in your every day life. Having a clear purpose will make it easy for you to breeze though life's stormy waters. For you to find your purpose in this world, you need to find yourself first. Try asking yourself : Why are you here in this world? How do you want to live your life?   Once you can freely answer these questions, you will slowly grasp the meaning of your life and you will sail through it in the direction you want it to go. -Joshua Miguel
