In my previous post entitled “In
Search of your Destiny”, I mentioned that it takes only one person, one
event, and one decision to help you discover your destiny. But how do we know if
destiny is already knocking at our doors?
Destiny is a very broad term for some of us. Sometimes we
tend to interchange it with fate. To be technical about it, destiny and fate have
different meanings. Though these two words both refer to man’s fortune. Fate is
more on the pessimistic side, while destiny is on the positive
side.
When we say fate, it usually refers to an unexplained,
unpopular, and sometimes tragic events in a person’s life that are beyond his
control. Destiny, on the other hand, is what we are supposed to accomplish in this world, it is a deep inner energy that
drives a person towards his life’s purpose. A person’s destiny is divinely-planned,
even before we are born in this world our role in the “grand master plan” was
already determined by the Divine Being- Our Divine Creator. However, He left us with
no reference manuals which we can use as guide in our pursuit for our destiny. It is therefore up to us on how to discover it
Finding our destiny is similar to finding our purpose in life. For us to find it, we need to know ourselves, we need to master our strengths, we need to heal our weaknesses, and we need to discover the inner power that lives within us. Once its done, we will slowly figure out what we want and what we can do with our life.We can
now commit to its success because we already have the confidence to face it through our newly discovered capabilities.
The events that are happening around us and the people who
are interacting with us are also intrumental in discovering our inner selves. These people and events can inspire us to succeed in our
purpose and they can also shove us away from it. Each one of us is connected to each other and we form part of
a puzzle. Before we can even find that “right fit”, we need to go through a roller-coaster
ride of trials and conflicts with the people around us. From these trials we will get to know ourselves
more. And from the conflicts, we will rise up stronger and wiser.
But as a final note, the responsibility of finding our destiny is our sole responsibility, but we need other people to discover it.
But as a final note, the responsibility of finding our destiny is our sole responsibility, but we need other people to discover it.
Finding our purpose should not be a choice, it should be a required endevour for everyone. Because a life without purpose is like living a life without
satisfaction ...and happiness.
