Yesterday on my way home, I decided to grab a quick snack at Jollibee-Malhacan (Bulacan) Branch. Parking was full so I took the drive thru option. Service crew who took my order was so jolly (so Jollibee!) and after paying my order, she instructed me to proceed to the next window to get my order. She also handed me my receipt and a small piece of paper with a ribbon tied on it. Written on that paper was an inspiring quote from Doug Firebough stating "every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow."
Drive thru services offered by fast food companies are meant to target consumers who are always on the go. Drive thrus are for individuals who are always rushing their way to the office or those who are too tired to sit down in a dinner table with family or friends and prefer to eat inside their cars.
The small note that I got from this "drive thru experience" reminded me that no matter how busy our life is, we should learn to take things slowly. We should teach ourselves to appreciate all the good and beautiful things around us. We should not rush our lives, we should live it and not just drive thru it. We might be living in the fast lane, but we should always find time to do something that will inch us closer to a better tomorrow. This way, you will live a life with meaning.
