Feng Shui Anyone?

Chinese New Year is around the corner and the first thing that comes into my mind when I think of Chinese New Year is Feng Shui. Just recently, I thought of selling my current house and I am considering of buying a new one. I consulted a Feng Shui Master to guide me on my purchase. For some of you who still do not know who a Feng Shui Master is, he is someone who practices Feng Shui, he is sometimes called geomancer. The word Feng Shui on the other hand is literally translated as wind and water. Feng Shui is a methodology or practice used in assessing the qualities of a location or property and its effects on the occupants. It is usually known as Chinese geomancy.  Anyway, during the process of my consultation with a Feng Shui Master, I was surprised on some of his advices regarding the location, position and as well as the design of both the interior and exterior of my future house. I like to share some of his Feng Shui advices.

  • When buying a house, try to know the history of the property. Avoid properties that were once a site of a funeral parlor, cemetery, slaughterhouse, hospital, temple, church, or police station. According to the Feng Shui Master, the negative vibes of these properties still abound and will continue to haunt the new occupants even if it’s renovated.
  • The house should not be built on top of an abandoned “water well”. It is worse if the well was filled-up by garbage or other filling materials like debris from earthquake or shaken building where many people have died. If this is so, the occupants of the property will suffer from recurring sickness, accidents, and misfortune.
  •  The main entrance or the main gate of the property could also affect the health and fortune of the occupants. Your main door should not face a funeral parlor, cemetery, slaughterhouse, hospital, temple, church or police station since these can cause sickness, incidence of death and strange happenings to the occupants. Large electric post, water tank and even trees should not block or partly block your main entrance since this will drive away the positive energy from entering the house.
  • Your main gate/entrance should not be directly in-line with your neighbor’s main gate/entrance. The house with a larger entrance/gate will suck in more fortune from the street than the one with a smaller entrance.
These are just some of the Feng Shui wisdom I gathered during my consultation with the geomancer. I know some of you do not believe in these stuffs and some of you might find this funny. Nevertheless, I hope you find this post interesting.

To all my Chinese friends and  followers, Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Predicting the future. Is it a gift?

How I wish I have the gift of Nostradamus so that I can predict the future.  I want to know the future so that I can prepare myself and my loved ones in the uncertainties of this world, Like this Covid19 pandemic for instance, If I knew this would happen, I would have saved enough money, stocked more groceries, and bought all the medical supplies to survived me for a year.  Looking back at my life, there were so many failures and pains that I've been through, I wished I would have prevented it. If I knew I will be involved in a vehicle accident when I was six, I would have never left the house. If I knew that I will be involved in a painful relationship, I would have taken a different path. And If I knew that it was the last day of my dad on this earth, I would have spent more time with him before his last breath. If I knew the future, there will be no more what ifs.   However, if I knew what will happen in the future, what will be my present life wil...

Dad, you are the best father ever

When I was young you taught me how to read and rhyme, And showed me laughter under the smiling sunshine. I remember that day when I stumbled with pain But you carried me in you arms and the pain was gone. You taught me the meaning of respect, to other beings and to thyself You modeled these traits not only in thy words but by actions on oneself You taught me responsibility to thy spouse and to our dynasty You modeled these through thy affection to my mother and members of our family The greatest kings have conquered the strongest nation But believe me; no king is greater than your affection. As you leave this world we know But the love you’ve showed in my heart entombed Today I may be sad because you said goodbye For the angels in heaven took your soul up in the sky If mothers are the best, fathers are the greatest. Thank you for your fatherly love, it was the best. . Image Source: Wikipedia
